About Us

Cathie Danielson was tired of seeing her books destroy themselves on the bookshelf. Sagging pages, bindings that were pulling away from the covers…all from the simple act of storing them on a bookshelf! There had to be a solution, she thought.

“My daughter and I started making some designs for a product that would help protect the value of our books,” Cathie says. “Once we settled on a design we liked, we sought a patent, and got it.”

But it would be almost ten years before Cathie met Karen White, and the two of them began putting a business together to sell The Booksaver.

“It just seemed like such a great product!” Karen says. “So simple, yet it’s a product that has incredible value because of what it does.”

Cathie and Karen started Booksavers Unlimited, Inc. in 2005, and have been excited to see the success of the venture as it has gone from a patented idea to a real product.

“Being two women in small business, there are always lots of hurdles, lots of growing pains,” says Cathie. “You learn a lot about yourself in the process. In the beginning, I just thought we would make a product and people would buy millions of them. I had no idea how much work goes into starting a business.”

Karen adds, “But it is such a rewarding process, too. We are succeeding in something that I think millions of other women would like to accomplish, too. We are living a dream, and hopefully we are showing other women that they can do it as well. Being women in business is an incredibly fun challenge!”
